As the story goes, God created man and Samuel Colt made them equal.  Ever since then, the Gunslinger has held a special place in our history. Some of our most famous historical figures have been Gunslingers, both the heroes and lawmen and sometimes even more famous, the outlaws.  Gunslingers were the men who would take up arms for a whole variety of reasons and causes.  Sometimes for greed, sometimes for glory, sometimes for justice.  Sometimes it was for all three.  No matter what the reason, these were all men with nerves of steel who could stare death directly in the face and never blink.

“The winner is the man who has the steadiest hand at the most dangerous moment,” remarked one famous lawmaker about his longevity as a Gunslinger. He was right then, and he is still right today.  When asked how he survived being shot 13 times in the Northfield Minnesota Robbery, Cole Younger stoically replied, “We’re tough men, used to tough ways.”  He was also right then and he too is still right today.

Today the Gunslinger rides again.  Today it’s no longer on the back of a mustang galloping across the deserts of the American West.  Today, it’s on the back of a steel horse, riding through the dangerous streets of any number of hell hole cities scattered across the globe.

Today, it’s screaming across the wind blown steppes of Afghanistan on a modified sand rail bristling with 50 caliber Browning’s.  The weapons may have changed; the enemy too, but there is one thing that has not changed and it never will.

It is the man who straps on his guns and puts himself into harms way, with nerves of steel and a hardened resolve, knowing for certain that he will be facing down an enemy that will do their utmost to kill him.  This spirit, this warrior, remains unchanged and unaltered from the past. Only one thing is certain; he will, without hesitation, fight to his last breath for a cause that he deems just.
